Embers of July

We had a busy weekend and an eventful week. We went to the Rockies “Star Wars Night” game on Saturday, which is pretty much a tradition for us at this point. We try to go most years; I think the first year we went was 2018. Had a great time, got drinks and apps afterwards at Yard House, then stayed the night at a hotel in Denver. Got up the next day and went to the History Colorado museum where they had a cool ’90s exhibit. I got very nostalgic, especially for the tech stuff.
Busy week. I ended up calling out on Tuesday. I was not feeling 100% and it was nice to just rest that day. I played a lot of Borderlands and otherwise hung out with the kitties. The rest of the week was busy as always and I’m glad we made it to Friday. We went to an event downtown celebrating the utilities department; that was pretty cool but we didn’t stay long. We ended up going to a local distillery and having dinner there as well. Delightful drinks and good dinner. Went home, hung out with the kitties, drank some more. I opened a bottle of Costco port that I’ve had for awhile, it was delicious. Not sure what we’re doing tomorrow. I have Latin to work on, but I’m hoping to finish the current project within a few more hours of work, ideally by Sunday. I started Borderlands 2 and it is pretty much better in every way than the first game, it’s lovely. I need to charge my gamepad, though, as it’s way low battery, so I’m writing this now.
I don’t have a whole lot to say. I’m tired and July is almost over, which is OK. I’m ready for July to yield to August, which eventually will yield Autumn for us and cooler temperatures. I should’ve called my mom tonight, but it’s too late now, hopefully tomorrow (I usually call her on Friday nights). I hope y’all are well. I don’t have anything profound to say, but wanted to check in and say hi. I’ll write more soon I’m sure. Thanks for reading, friends <3
