In Transcursu

I really like that phrase. In reading Latin letters recently, I came across it for the first time; it is a fun synonym for the older, one-word expression obiter, “by the way, in passing” (often seen in the phrase obiter dicta, “things said in passing/on the way”). And I wanted to write something quick, basically, raptim (“in haste”), for y’all.
It’s been a busy week already. Halfway through it. It has felt incredibly long compared to the last couple of weeks, which were truncated due to illness and then the 4th (& 5th) of July. But we’re almost to the end. I’m in-office tomorrow, then home Friday, things should be pretty chill. I’m ready for the weekend, but it’s supposed to be in the 100s F from Fri-Mon, so that is not my favorite thing at all. I imagine I won’t be leaving the house much this weekend, and the A/C will probably be going round the clock, ugh.
My parents are coming to visit next week, as far as I know… I don’t have confirmation of their flights yet, even, so I am hoping they booked them. Regardless, we are taking a couple of days off, hopefully with them here, and that will be nice. We also have a Disneyland trip planned which will be really fun a little later this year. My spouse likes having things to look forward to; they find it breaks up the monotony of work, and I would tend to agree, but I honestly am happy hanging around at home, or in the state, y’know?
We installed some LED solar lights in the backyard, also! My sister-in-law sent them to us, and they work wonderfully at night, after we finally figured out how to turn them on (not intuitive at all). And I finally figured out how to turn on the LED “jar” light we have hanging on a pole out in the back, which will be nice too. I will check it out tonight once it gets dark and see how it turned out. I am not a fan of light pollution and I enjoy the backyard being dark, but I think these will be fun and not too terribly bright. night-shining!
Anyways, just wanted to get a few thoughts down and hope y’all are well and staying cool. <3
