Late Spring
- 2 minutes read - 339 wordsWe’re slouching towards summer now, it’s approaching too quickly for my taste. I’m tired after a long week (“they’re all long weeks” yep). It was lovely and gloomy today and cold, a nice Oregon-style day. We don’t get many of those here, as it’s sunny most of the year, even in the depths of winter with snow and ice. Supposed to be sunny and warmer this weekend, which is fine.
My birthday is coming up soon. I don’t enjoy my birthdays as much these days, since they aren’t as exciting as when I was a kid, but it’s OK. One more interesting trip around the sun, fine by me. We’re hopefully getting together with friends and celebrating, which will be nice. My parents are coming to visit in a couple of months as well (it seems so far away, but it’s not!), which is exciting. I am looking forward to seeing them and showing them the new car!
I think we’re going to go downtown tomorrow, do some errands and also fun stuff, which is usually how our weekends go. I bought two games tonight, Blue Prince, which my favorite retro gaming podcast, Classic Gaming Today, describes as a “roguelike puzzle game.” I’d say that’s pretty apt. I will probably have more to say about it once I play some more. Basically, you’re exploring your uncle’s mansion in hopes of claiming your inheritance, but the rooms in the mansion “reset” every day, and you connect one room to the next by “drawing” room types. So there is a lot of randomness and it is unsettlingly fun. I also finally bought Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, which has been on my Steam wishlist for a long time. It reminds me, in the best way, of Moonglow Bay, and is definitely going on the “chill games” list.
I don’t have a ton to say tonight. I’d like to write more soon but I wanted to get something down. I hope y’all are doing as well as possible and will talk soon. <3
