Quick Missive

hi everyone. it’s been awhile and I’m sorry I haven’t written. I’ve been rather oblique about this elsewhere, but we closed on a house at the end of September, and we’ve been working on moving ever since. My mom came out for a few days to help out, which was immensely helpful, but also really good to see her. I’d like to write at greater length about this when the dust settles a little more, so to speak, though.

so yeah, we’ve been working very hard on getting settled in the new place, and also trying to empty out the old place. We have to be out of the apartment by the 5th, so my goal is to empty the place entirely this weekend, then just need to do cleaning after that. and then we’ll be done.

The cats are much happier in the new place, although they’ve been systematically destroying pieces of the blinds (so many windows to play in!). I think we’ll have to replace the blinds at some point but haven’t figured out a strategy for that quite yet.

anyways we are both very happy… and so are the cats… wanted to check in with y’all and hope all is well.

(side note: I should look into how to add comment capability to this blog, but I don’t really know how, given that Hugo is a static site and all. and at the same time, I don’t know that I want to invite any spam. if you want to contact me, message me on Mastodon or shoot me an email, please)
